The last step of every sale is the buyer's confirmation. It tells us the domain is in the buyer's own registrar account, and it releases the money to the seller.

Confirm receipt (buyers)#

  1. Sign in at your registrar and check that the domain is in your account.
  2. Open the order under My Purchases.
  3. Press Confirm receipt, or Confirm I received the domain if it arrived before the seller marked it.

If you do not answer within the confirmation period after the seller marks it transferred, the order completes by itself, unless a dispute is open.

Common problems#

  • The code is rejected: the domain may still be locked, or the code may have changed. Ask the seller in the order messages to unlock it and enter a new code.
  • The transfer was refused: many registrars block transfers for a period after a domain is registered or moved. Ask the seller to push it instead if you can open an account at their registrar.
  • The push did not arrive: check that the account ID on the order is exactly right.
  • The seller does not answer: the order page shows the seller's deadline. If it passes, open a dispute.

When to open a dispute#

Use Report a problem on the order when the domain did not arrive, or is not the one you bought. Do not confirm receipt in that case. See Open a dispute.
