Transfer a sold domain (sellers)
When a sale is paid, you get a notice and the sale appears under My Sales. Transfer the domain before the deadline shown on the sale.
Before you start#
- Make sure the sale says it is paid. Never transfer on the strength of an e-mail or a screenshot.
- Wait for the buyer's transfer details. The sale page shows them when they arrive.
- Check that the domain is not about to expire and that your registrar account is in good standing.
If the buyer chose a push#
- Sign in at your registrar and find the push or "move to another account" option.
- Enter the buyer's account name or ID exactly as shown on the sale page.
- Back on AIODomain, press I pushed the domain, then Mark as transferred with a note.
If the buyer chose a registrar transfer#
- At your registrar, unlock the domain and turn off any transfer lock or privacy setting that blocks it.
- Get the authorisation code (also called EPP code or transfer key).
- Enter it in the code form on the sale page and confirm the domain is unlocked. It is stored encrypted.
- Approve the transfer if your registrar e-mails you to confirm it.
- Press Mark as transferred and say what you did.
Never write the authorisation code in the note or in a message. Use the code form only.
You can add evidence, such as a screenshot of the registrar page, with Add evidence. It helps if a dispute is opened.
