Escrow for buyers

Paying through escrow takes a few more steps than a card payment, but the money stays with a licensed third party until you have the domain.

Start and fund the escrow#

  1. Open the order under My Purchases and choose the escrow option.
  2. We open the transaction and send you the provider's link by e-mail.
  3. Sign in or create an account at the provider. Use the same e-mail address as on AIODomain.
  4. Agree to the transaction there and pay the provider.

Escrow orders get a longer payment deadline, because funding takes time. Fund it before the deadline on the order page.

Receive and accept the domain#

  1. Give your transfer details on the order page.
  2. When the seller marks it transferred, check that the domain is in your registrar account.
  3. Press Confirm receipt. This accepts the domain at the provider, which then pays the seller.

If something goes wrong#

  • You can cancel the escrow while it is not funded yet.
  • After funding, a refund is made by the provider, not by AIODomain.
  • If the domain does not arrive, open a dispute on the order. See Open a dispute.
