Connect a registrar account

Connecting your registrar account brings your domains into Portfolio and keeps them up to date. It also verifies the ownership of your listings found in that account.

Supported registrars#

The registrars you can connect are listed on the Registrar accounts page. Each one needs an API key or a similar access key that you create in your registrar account.

Step by step#

1. At your registrar, create an API key in the account or developer settings. Some registrars also ask you to allow access from our server's address.
2. Open Registrar accounts and choose the registrar.
3. Paste the key details and give the connection a label.
4. Save. We test the key at the registrar before we store it, encrypted.
5. Run the first sync. Your domains appear in Portfolio.

What the connection can do#

• It is read-only. We read the domain list and its details. We never renew, change or move a domain.
• It syncs by itself every day. You can also sync by hand a few times an hour.
• Listings found in the account are verified with the registrar method.
• A domain that disappears from the account is flagged as missing.

Registrar sync may need a paid plan. See Membership plans explained. Remove a connection at any time to delete the stored key.
