Selling domains

Choose how to sell: Buy Now, offers or auction

2 min read Updated Nov 4, 2026

Each listing has a type. It decides how buyers can buy the domain. You choose it under How do you want to sell it? when you add or edit a domain.

The listing types#

  • Buy Now (fixed price): buyers pay your price at once. Best when you know what the name is worth.
  • Make an Offer: buyers propose a price and you negotiate. You can set a minimum offer and show an asking price.
  • Buy Now + Make an Offer: both at once. Buyers who agree with your price pay; the others make offers. This suits most domains.
  • Auction: buyers bid for a set time. Good for names with strong demand. See Sell a domain with an auction.

Setting a price#

  • Look at recently sold domains with a similar length, extension and keyword.
  • Use Suggest a price on the listing form, or the value estimate tool, as a starting point.
  • Prices are saved in US dollars. You enter them in your current currency and they are converted.

You can change the type and the price later. A change to a live listing may need a new approval.

Tip: a fair Buy Now price sells faster than a high one with offers. Buyers like certainty.

Next: Write a listing that sells.
